Expression of the H-subunit and L-subunit of ferritin in bone marrow macrophages and cells of the erythron during cellular immune activation
2011, Blood Cells, Molecules, and DiseasesCitation Excerpt :Il-6 tends to be more of a secondary mediator, fundamental for the acute phase response in the liver and has a regulatory function in the immune response [28]. The chemokine, Il-8, is responsible for the recruitment of leukocytes such as the neutrophil to the inflammatory site [30]. No significant differences were shown between the two groups for Il-1β and TNF-α or for Il-2 and Il-12.
