Abstract
Stress analysis and rock failure criterion are introduced to further investigate the thermal expansion mechanism of salt deposits in pores of rocks. Depending on temperature change and mechanical properties of salts and rocks, sometimes, this mechanism can cause the internal damage of rocks, although it is not always effective.
