We would like to thank Dr Martin Cheek’s team at Kew, especially Xander van der Burgt, for looking out for these inconspicuous plants during field work in Guinea and Sierra Leone, supplying photographs, and for assisting in the provision of duplicates to Kew. The second author thanks Prof. Bassirou Bonfoh, Prof. Inza Koné and Saturnin Dougoune (Centre Suisse de Recherches Scientifiques en Côte d’Ivoire) for help with obtaining a collecting permit and for organising the trip in Ivory Coast. Chyrille Chatelain (G) provided us with records of Eriocaulon collections from Ivory Coast.
