  • Published:
Pharmaceutical Chemistry Journal Aims and scope

Abstract

Interaction of methyl esters of acylpyruvic acids with 2-amino-4-(ethylsulfonyl)phenol in a 1: 1 molar ratio yields 6-ethylsulfonyl-3-acylmethylene-1,4-benzoxazin-2-ones. The structures of the synthesized compounds were confirmed by IR, NMR, and mass spectroscopy data. Eight compounds were tested for antibacterial activity.
