Tests of cast iron VCh50 are performed by the standard method of end quenching. The applicability and efficiency of the use of this method for predicting the results of heat hardening of various kinds of cast ion is demonstrated. Special features of formation of the microstructure of the metallic matrix are determined depending on the used rate of quenching cooling.
