A New 20-Deoxypseudojujubogenin Glycoside from Bacopa monniera

  • Published:
Chemistry of Natural Compounds Aims and scope

A new dammarane-type triterpenoid glycoside, 3-O-[β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→3)-O-{β-L-arabinofuranosyl-(1→2)}-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl]-20-deoxypseudojujubogenin (1), was isolated from the EtOAc fraction of Bacopa monniera (Plantaginaceae). Five known compounds, p-hydroxybenzoic acid (2), betulinic acid (3), luteolin (4), monnierasid I (5), 3-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl (3R)-1-octen-3-ol (6), and a mixture of bacopaside N1 (7) and bacopaside N2 (8), were also identified. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic data and comparison with published data.
