Cycloartane Glycosides from Euphorbia boissierana

  • Published:
Chemistry of Natural Compounds Aims and scope

Two known (1 and 2) and two new (3 and 4) bisdesmoside cycloartane glycosides were isolated by fractionation of total extracted compounds from rhizomes of Euphorbia boissierana Prokh. (Euphorbiaceae). Chemical transformations, physical constants, and spectral data characterized the new glycosides as 3-O-β-D-(2′-OAc)-xylopyranosyl-6-O-β-D-xylopyranosyl-3β,6α,16β,24(R),25-pentahydroxycycloartane (3) and 3-O-β-D-(2′-OAc)-xylopyranosyl-6-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-3β,6α,16β,24(R),25-pentahydroxycycloartane (4).
