A new triterpene, 3β,19α-dihydroxy-6β-acetoxy-ursane (1), was isolated from the rhizomes of Astilbe chinensis. Its structure was elucidated on the basis of 1D and 2D NMR analyses and HR-MS experiments. The isolated compound exhibited cytotoxic activities against HeLa and L929 cell lines.
