Abstract

This paper presents the validation and evaluation of measurement uncertainty of a method for quantitative measurement of nitrate concentration in various groundwater samples by means of molecular UV absorption spectrometry. A calibration study was conducted for the working range from 0.10 mg/L to 6.00 mg/L NO3 , being accordingly determined detection and quantification limits of 0.07 mg/L NO3 and 0.10 mg/L NO3 , respectively. It was also proven that the method is accurate and precise. Selectivity and applicability were discussed. Measurement uncertainty was evaluated based on the validation data.
