Abstract

A mild and efficient method was developed for preparation of amidoalkyl naphthols via one-pot three-component condensation of aldehydes with amides and 2-naphthol in the presence of polyethylene glycol (PEG)-based dicationic acidic ionic liquid as a powerful catalyst under solvent-free conditions. Excellent yields, short reaction time, simple work-up, and reusable catalyst are advantages of this procedure.
