Sir,
H5N1 influenza virus infection is a new problematic emerging infectious disease that crosses species from birds to human beings. There are continuous case reports on this infection. The respiratory manifestation is the common presentation of this infection, however, the other atypical manifestations can also be seen. The gynecological and obstetrical manifestation of H5N1 influenza virus infection is of interest [1, 2]. The author hereby searches the database to find whether there is any gynecological or obstetrical manifestation of H5N1 influenza virus infection. Of interest, according to the literature searching, there is no report presenting evidences of gynecological manifestation in overall 245 reported H5N1 virus infected cases from 15 affected countries (September 2008). For the obstetrical manifestation, there is no reported infection in obstetric case.
