Zusammenfassung
Als Papillenschwellung bezeichnet man die Prominenz des Sehnervenkopfes mit schwer abgrenzbarem, unscharfem Papillenrand infolge Nervenfaserschwellung. Sie ist ein unspezifisches klinisches Zeichen, dem äußerst unterschiedliche Ursachen zugrunde liegen können. Dabei sind die richtige Diagnosestellung und das Erkennen der zugrunde liegenden Ursache oft von entscheidender Bedeutung. Der vorliegende Beitrag gibt eine Übersicht über die wichtigsten differenzialdiagnostischen Krankheitsbilder und Anleitungen zur richtigen und zielgerichteten Diagnosestellung.
Abstract
Optic disc oedema describes blurred optic disc margins. It describes an unspecific clinical sign with various possible underlying causal mechanisms. The correct diagnosis and the detection of the underlying disease is however of special clinical importance. This article summarizes the most important differential diagnoses and gives advice to find the correct diagnosis.
