Abstract.

Cowpea miscellany group of rhizobia are generally broad host range. Transconjugants of these cowpea rhizobial isolates having nodABC-lacZ fusion were monitored for flavonoid/root exudate-induced activation of the nod genes in terms of β-galactosidase activity, thus determining the potential host range of the rhizobial isolates.
