Samenvatting

Het is bekend dat dreigend ontslag van personeel bij afslankoperaties leidt tot een verhoogd ziekteverzuim. Dit gegeven werd in tien gemeentelijke diensten in Finland bij 16.521 vrouwelijk en 6.500 mannelijk gemeentepersoneel in een prospectieve cohortstudie onderzocht. Als controle nam men de ziekteverzuimgegevens uit de periode voor de afslankoperaties en verder de verzuimgegevens van gemeentelijke bedrijven waar geen ontslagdreiging bestond.
