Abstract
A new guaiane type sesquiterpene was isolated from the fruit ofTorilis japonica (Umbelliferae). Based on NMR, IR and mass spectroscopy its structure was confirmed as deangeloyloxy torilin, 1ß, 7α, 10αH-11 -acetoxy-guaia-4-en-3-one (1). This is the first report showing that this compound can be isolated fromTorilis japonica.
