Untersuchungen zur Wirkung von Pasta ulmi auf Malariaparasiten

Zusammenfassung

Extrakt von Pasta ulmi wurdo in vivo und in vitro auf Antimalariawirkung untersucht. Beim Tierversuch zeigte der lipophile Extrakt eine stärkere Wirkurg als der Gesamtextrakt, dagegen hatte der wässerige Extrakt keine therapeutische Wirkung. Während in der Zellkultur die aus dem lipophilen Extrakt isolierten Fraktionen C₁, C₂ und C₄ keine Hemmwirkung auf P. falciparum aufwiesen, übten die Fraktionen C₀ und C₃ in einer Konzentration von 10 Hg/ml Medium am 5. Tag der Kultur eine völlig vernichtende Wirkung auf die Parasiten aus.

Abstract

The extract of Pasta ulmi was examined in vivo and in vitro for antimalaria effect. During animal experiments lipophil extract appeared to have a stronger effect than whole extract, whereas the water diluted extract had no therapeutic effect. In the cell culture the isolated fraction of lipophil extract C₁, C₂ and C₄ showed no inhibitory effect on P. falciparum, but the fraction C₀ and C₃ with a concentration of 10 μg/ml medium demonstrated a totally parasiticical effect on parasites on the 5th day of culture.
