Summary
Photosynthetic O2-production by the green algaScenedesmus quadricauda is reduced by the organophosphorous insecticide parathion. Inhibition of photosynthesis, which does not exceed 60%, is dependent upon the parathion concentration. In vitro only the noncyclic electron flow through PS II was inhibited.
