Abstract
In course of systematic geological mapping in parts of Tuensang district of Nagaland, imprints of blueschist metamorphism associated with the ophiolite belt have been located. The tectonic conditions that allow the formation of blueschists can be related in space and time in the “Naga suture” developed during the upper Cretaceous and Eocene age, representing the collision boundary between the Indian and Chinese plates.
