Summary
On the basis of experimental investigations on the penetration of the nonionic Syntamide-5 solution into hydrophobized quartz capillaries it has been concluded that there are three different penetration mechanisms. Theories are developed to cover the investigated transport mechanisms, which take into account the micelle disintegration and solution concentration reduction near the meniscus as a result of adsorption, as well as the surface diffusion of surfactant molecules.
