Brain penetration and intracerebral haemorrhage following Jackson-Pratt drain insertion

Summary

A case of brain penetration with resulting intracerebral haemorrhage following Jackson-Pratt drain insertion is reported. The advantages of drain placement are discussed. The dangers of this type of drain because of its sharp terminal edges are pointed out.
