Summary

In a first part of the film the signs and etiologic factors of rectal prolapse are summarized. Mentioning the excellent late results, the basic concept of the Ivalon-sponge wrapping is explained. The second part of the film shows the operative technique in detail; the main steps of the procedure are: mobilisation of the rectum —fixation of the Ivalon sponge and wrapping of the mobilized rectum.

Zusammenfassung

In einem ersten Teil des Filmes wird nach einer kurzen Darstellung der Klinik und schematischen Übersicht über die Ätiologie des Prolapsleidens das Grundkonzept der sacralen Rectopexie mit Ivalon-sponge erläutert und auf die sehr guten Langzeitresultate hingewiesen. Der zweite Teil zeigt die 3 Hauptschritte der operativen Technik: Rectummobilisation — Fixation des Ivalon-sponges an der präsacralen Fascie sowie die manschettenförmige Fixation des Rectums.
