Heilung experimenteller Tumoren durch Operation unter „chemotherapeutischem Schutz”

Summary

  1. 1.

    The rate of tumor-relapses and metastasis after total exstirpation of a subcutaneous-growing Yoshida-sarkoma was estimated in 15 rats. 9 animals=60% died of relapse and metastasis.

  2. 2.

    If by purpose an incomplete operation is performed, leaving a small piece of the tumor behind (0·5–2·0 g) the rate of tumor-relapses and metastasis increased. Of 35 rats operated with this method, 26=74% died of these complications.

  3. 3.

    All animals, which were treated with either total or incomplete exstirpation of the tumor in combination with a chemotherapy with N-oxyd-Lost could be definitedly cured. Toxic effects respectively deaths by the used dosage of the substance did not occur.
