Abstract
A patient with extra- and intrahepatic biliary atresia had microcephaly and interstitial pneumonia. Cytomegalovirus was isolated from a throatswab and in urine. Complement binding antibodies against Cytomegalovirus were found in mother and child. A causal connection between extrahepatic biliary atresia and a most likely congenital cytomegalic inclusion disease is discussed.
Zusammenfassung
Eine Patientin mit extra- und intrahepatischer Gallengangsatresie, die vom 3. bis zum 9. Lebensmonat beobachtet wurde, war mikrocephal und hatte eine interstitielle Pneumonie. Das Cytomegalievirus konnte im Rachenabstrich und im Harn nachgewiesen werden. Außerdem fanden sich komplementbindende Antikörper gegen Cytomegalie bei Mutter und Kind. Ein Zusammenhang zwischen der extrahepatischen Gallengangsatresie und der vermutlich konnatalen Cytomegalie wird diskutiert.
