Abstract

The natural refrigerant CO₂ (R744) protects the environment and increases the paßenger comfort in the vehicle. However, the route to serial production is arduous: Due to the media characteristics of CO₂, it provides a couple of challenges for the components of the refrigerant loop. Redesigning R134a components is neceßary and in certain cases, completely new developments are required.
