Abstract
An interior solution of the Einstein-Maxwell equations for a charged static sphere is obtained. The physical 3-spacet=constant of the solution is spheroidal. The solution is interpreted as a charged analogue of Vaidya-Tikekar solution. The details of the solution are also discussed.
