Summary

An experimental study of the26Mg(3He,α)25Mg reaction has been made. Excitation functions were measured fromE 3 He=9.0 toE 3 He=11.0 MeV in steps of 100 keV with a resolution better than 100 keV. Differential cross-sections have been obtained forα-groups leading to the ground state and to the first four excited levels of the residual nucleus, in the angular range (15÷150)° in steps of 5°. The angular distributions averaged over the entire explored energy range have been compared with a diffractional model and with DWBA calculations. Spectroscopic ratios have been derived with both models and comparable results have been obtained, however these ratios are not stable against variations in the incident energy for both models. Strong fluctuations are evident in the excitation functions which are cross-correlated between states of the residual nucleus of the same rotational band suggesting some peculiar intermediate structure.
