Notes

  1. For an extensive review of Crosstalk XVI, see Stuart J. Kolner, “The IBM PC as an Online Search Machine, Part 4: Telecommunications and Crosstalk XVI,”Online, 9 (July, 1985), pp. 27–34.

  2. Users who have already installed two serial ports cannot use Reach! without disabling one of them, a process that may require technical modifications to circuitry. In such cases I recommend, the purchase of an external modem rather than an internal modem, which can use an existing RS-232 port.

  3. Those whosepcs are already stuffed with expansion boards will be pleased to know that Reach! fits into a short (5.25″) internal slot.

  4. Emulated are Televideo 910/920, IBM 3101, ADDS Viewpoint,dec vt-100 andvt-52, and Texas Instruments 940.
