Zusammenfassung

Es wird ein Verfahren zur Berechnung der besten rationalenTschebyscheff-Approximationen für die Quadratwurzelfunktion in einem Intervall beschrieben. Die wesentlichen Grundlagen des mitgeteilten Algorithmus bilden ein modifiziertesHeron-Verfahren und eine Verallgemeinerung des Alternantensatzes. Für das Verfahren werden Fehlerschranken angegeben.

Summary

A method is presented for the evaluation of the best rationalChebyshev-approximation for the square root function. The basis of the method is a modification ofHeron's algorithm and a generalisation of the alternating properties. Errorbounds are also given.
