Summary
The presence of 10−3 M ouabain or furosemide in the perfusate inhibited saliva secretion induced by either isoproterenol (10−5 M) or phenylephrine (10−5 M) from isolated rat submandibular glands and caused characteristic alterations in the electrolyte composition of saliva.
