Abstract
The PKωK-value of Cr following54Mn decay has been determined using two independent precision methods for both the measurements of theK-X-ray emission rate and the disintegration rate. We obtained for PKωK a value of 0.2514+-0.0008. Using PK=0.900 deduced from literature the fluorescence yield of Cr was found to be ωK=0.2793 ±0.0017. A discussion of the statement of errors is given.

The author would like to express his thanks to Mr. D.Reher who carried out the experiments very carefully and to Mr. A.Spernol who supported the work by many helpful discussions. He is indebted to his colleagues Messrs. E.Celen, E. deRoost, G.Grosse, and R.Vaninbroukx who performed a part of the measurements of the disintegration rate and to Mr. O.Lerch who ran the measurements with the solid angle arrangement in the early stage of the work. Furthermore his thanks are due to Dr. J.Spaepen, Director of the C. B. N. M., for his interest shown in this work.
