Summary
A simple procedure is described for the preparation of FITC coupled mouse anti-species globulin. The procedure is based upon sodium sulphate precipitation, followed by inwards dialysis of FITC into the purified mouse globulin. Passage through G-25 sephadex columns gave conjugates which were virtually free of non-specific staining properties. The results obtained from 3 batches each of anti-rabbit and anti-human globulin are described in terms of specific and non-specific staining titres for use in the identification of bacteria and viruses in diagnostic material.
