245. Die Arteriosklerose als chirurgische Aufgabe

Summary

The long-term follow-up results of reconstructive vascular surgery are demonstrated in 5245 patients operated on in the University Surgical Clinics in Cologne and Munich (1959–1974). With low surgical lethality and morbidity, operative treatment of cerebrovascular insufficiency (378 patients) or renovascular hypertension (257 patients) guarantees longer survival. In cases of aorto-iliacal (2547 patients) and femoropopliteal (1440 patients) occlusion, the object of therapy is the preservation of the extremity. For good results, operative treatment of peripheral and aortic aneurysms should be performed before complications such as thromboembilism or rupture of the aneurysm occur.

Zusammenfassung

Die Spatergebnisse der rekonstruktiven Arterienchirurgie werden an 5245 operierten Kranken der Chirurgischen Universitätskliniken Köln und München (1959–1974) dargestellt. Die Eingriffe bei cerebrovasculärer Insuffizienz (378 Kranke), renovasculärer Hypertonie (257 Kranke) and Angina intestinalis (24 Pat.) ermöglichen bei niedriger operativer Letalität and Morbidität eine Lebensverlängerung, bei Verschlüssen im Aorta-Iliaca-Bereich (2547 Pat.) and am femoro-poplitealen Abschnitt (1440 Pat.) gilt die Erhaltung der Extremität als therapeutisches Ziel. Bei peripheren (303 Pat.) and Aortenaneurysmen (296 Pat.) ist fur ein gutes Behandlungsergebnis der frühzeitige Eingriff vor dem Auftreten von Komplikationen (Thromboembolie bzw. Ruptur) Voraussetzung.
