Summary

1.
In the reaction between active nitrogen and benzene, the products include not only hydrogen cyanide and a deposit on the walls of the reaction vessel but also small amounts of pyridine, phenyl isocyanide, benzo nitrile, and probably terephralonitrile. It was shown that quinoline and isoquinoline arc present among the products of reactions between active nitrogen and naphthalene.
