Conclusions

  1. 1.

    The possibility of using the Dieckmann condensation to obtain chlorosubstituted 2-(4″-dimethylaminophenyl)indan-1,3-diones has been shown.

  2. 2.

    We have discovered thermochromic behavior in the chlorosubstituted dimers which we obtained.
