Conclusions
In the13C NMR spectra of certain 3-substituted sulfolanes, 3, 4-trans-substituted sulfolanes and silacyclopentanes, 2,3,4-trisubstituted sulfolanes, and 3,4-cis-sulfolanes with different substituents, the signal of the carbon atom of a methylene group located between the heteroatom and an asymmetric carbon atom is manifested in the form of a doublet of doublets. It is suggested that the magnetic nonequivalence of the protons is due to the presence of the asymmetric atom.
