Products of the reaction of chloroacetone and of 2-bromoacetophenone with diphenylphosphinous esters

Summary

  1. 1.

    Reaction of chloroacetone with ethyl and isobutyl diphenylphosphinites gave acetonyldiphenylphosphine oxide and isopropenyl diphenylphosphinate.

  2. 2.

    The product of the reaction of ethyl or isobutyl diphenylphosphinite with 2-bromoacetophenone is phenacyldiphenylphosphine oxide.

  3. 3.

    The infrared and ultraviolet spectra of the products were determined.
