Summary

The changes occurring in successive renal biopsies from a 15 respectively 17 years old female patient with the nephrotic syndrome were studied during the course of 2 years. Contrary to the current widespread view, it was found that, an acute membranous glomerulonephritis (the so-called idiopathic nephrotic syndrom of the foot process type, or infantile lipoid nephrosis) can develop into the postacute peri- or extramembranous glomerulonephritis (termed by other authors membranous glomerulonephritis oder idiopathic nephrotic syndrome of the membranous type).

Zusammenfassung

Vergleichende Nierenbiopsien bei einer 15 bzw. 17 Jahre alten Patientin mit nephrotischem Syndrom im Verlauf von fast 2 Jahren ergaben, daß, im Gegensatz zu der heute weit verbreiteten Ansicht, eine akute membranöse Glomerulonephritis (sog. idiopathisches nephrotisches Syndrom vom Fußfortsatztyp bzw. Lipoidnephrose des Kindesalters) in eine postakute peri- oder extramembranöse Glomerulonephritis (von anderen Autoren als membranöse Glomerulonephritis bzw. idiopathisches, nephrotisches Syndrom vom membranösen Typ etc. bezeichnet) übergehen kann.
