Abstract
It is shown that the nature and quantitative yield of free radicals that form in the radiolysis of epoxy compounds are dependent on the type of substituent on the epoxy ring and can be explained on the basis of the energy levels of the boundary molecular orbitals, the character of filling of these, and also the overall characteristics of the atoms and bonds in the ground state of the molecule.
