Abstract
The acid-catalyzed rearrangement of 2,5-dimethoxytetrahydrofuryl-3-carbinol, obtained from 2,5-dimethoxy-3-formyltetrahydrofuran, gave the 2-substituted 3-formyl-5-methoxytetrahydrofuran.
