Abstract
Examination of a recent article on sex differences in response to being touched (Whitcher & Fisher, 1979) illustrates that current preoccupation with using nonsexist referents in APA journals does not necessarily produce meaningful modification where it matters most — in the conceptual analysis of the psychological process under investigation.
