Bilateral posterior optic neuropathy after bilateral radical neck dissection and hypotension

Abstract

A 67-year-old man became totally blind after bilateral neck dissection complicated by postoperative hypotension. Histopathological study revealed extensive bilateral infarction of the orbital portion of the optic nerves.
