Abstract

The paper presents the results of the continuation of the thermal and geophysical researches of snow cover, ice glacier and frozen ground thickness and structure in the lite of climate variation. It presents results of investigations conducted in Moscow in winter period 2023. The previous research was conducted at the Garabashi glacier (Elbrus, Caucasus) in fieldworks periods of 2021 and 2022 and presents the results of using ground penetrating radar (GPR) to survey a ski slope prepared on a glacier. The ground temperature monitoring well is drilled to estimate the effect of snow cover on the ground freezing depth and temperature variation in the changing climate and to verify the applied for Russian permafrost monitoring ground temperature monitoring system. The newly obtained data also allows development of the revealed before results.
