Abstract

A smart campus is an environment with efficient technology and infrastructure to serve better facility and comfort. Smart campus includes smart classroom, libraries, cafeteria, parking place, transportation, etc., to improve the teaching process, students’ experience, and research. Also, the implementation of smart campus reduces overall operating costs. The Internet of Things (IoT) is considered as primary driving force in smart campus implementation. The IoT technologies with cloud/edge computing and cloud storage improve the space–time constraints of traditional campus environment. This paper reviews IoT-enabled smart campus applications and explores the probable research opportunities to be conducted in this area.
