Abstract

The article focuses on the main trends and directions of international crime development in the implementation of cybertechnologies. In particular, the general trend is that hacker attacks have become more complex and professional in nature; now they tend to be directed not only at individual users, but also at industrial systems. The author points out that organized cybercrime is increasingly connected with large-scale organized crime, serving the traffic of illegal migration to the EU countries, drug trafficking and the—black sex market, interacts with terrorist networks as well as with the special services of such states that pursue destructive objectives towards other countries. Currently, there has been some change in the priorities of cybercrime in terms of obtaining a predominantly positive financial result. At the same time, unlike the introduction of viruses that act to create botnets (networks of infected computers) and the main actions of which are carried out without the participation of users, the implementation of targeted attacks by hackers is aimed at the target company or a specific user of the network. It is noted that despite the fact that agreements on mutual legal assistance in the field of combating cybercrime have already been concluded and are in force, the need to develop procedures for rapid response and international cooperation is extremely acute.
