Abstract
The Bedouin in Israel and First Nations peoples in Canada, particularly those who live in isolated areas in the northern territories have a lot in common. They are marginalized and suffer from many social, economic problems as well as having poor housing conditions. In addition, their educational achievements are lagging behind the national averages in both countries due to inadequate funding, high dropout rates and lack of qualified local teachers from their own communities.
