Abstract
The molecules of α- and γ-pyridone are the simple skeleton of the uracil molecule and its derivatives, which play an important role in basic biological processes [1, 2]. The assignment of infrared (IR) vibrational bands in KBr pellets of both pyridones was studied [3]. The IR-dispersive data of this work were used to establish a previous unambiguous identification of FT-IR bands.
