Abstract
Synthetic latexes are widely used today, the most common types being based on acrylate esters, styrene-acrylate ester combinations or vinyl acetate by itself externally plasticized or in combination with a variety of flexibilizing comonomers. The type and proportion of monomers used has a marked influence on final latex properties.
