Abstract
We know that ‖T n (a)‖ → ‖T(a)‖ = ‖a‖∞ for every a ∈ L∞. We now consider the problem of estimating the speed with which ‖T n (a)‖ approaches ‖T(a)‖ provided the symbol a is rational.
