Samenvatting

Een koortslip wordt veroorzaakt door het herpes-simplex-virus-(HSV-)1. De primaire infectie met (HSV-)1 is meestal asymptomatisch maar kan zich presenteren als een gingivostomatitis of pharyngitis bij kinderen jonger dan 5 jaar.
