Samenvatting

Paroxetine (Seroxat®), behorend tot de groep van ‘selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors’ (SSRI’s), kwam in Nederland in 1991 op de markt voor behandeling van depressie. In de meest recente officiële productinformatie van paroxetine (herzien in september 2004) wordt gewichtstoename vermeld als mogelijke bijwerking; dit was in eerdere versies niet het geval. Gewichtstoename wordt tevens genoemd in de productinformatie van de andere SSRI’s, met uitzondering van fluoxetine.
